Wisconsin CHMM Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

March 12, 2009

Conference Call Meeting called to order by Chapter President Liz Schuller at 4:00 pm.

Members present:  Tom Maurer, Michelle Dupey, Michele Bogner, Sonji Millet, Cheryl Moran, Liz Schuller, Jeff Nettesheim and Barbara Hurula

Upcoming Events

March 26^th – Tour and Meeting at Quad Graphics in Sussex, WI 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm.  Refreshments will be provided by CHMM (Liz Schuller to pick up).  This project is LEED registered and has been submitted for certification consideration.  The presentation will include requirements and certification process, benefits to the company, environment and employees, challenges of LEED, and the future of green building.  No special PPE equipment is needed for the tour.  For additional information and to RSVP, contact Liz Schuller, alpinecompliance@wi.rr.com, or the FET Office at 414-354-0070.

April 25^th – Spring/Earth Day Community Clean-up from 9-11 am with the “Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful” or “Hank Aaron Trail Club” in Milwaukee.  Bags will be provided.  For additional information and to RSVP, contact Liz Schuller at alpinecompliance@wi.rr.com, or the FET Office at 414-354-0070

May 2009 – Need an educational speaker for the Annual Meeting – date to be announced.  Discussed having Cedric Calhoun of AHMP (formerly ACHMM) come in to discuss the changes to the AHMP organization, or participate via WebEx.  Also discussed having someone from IHMM come in and go over the changes to the re-certification process and requirements. 

Other options discussed for upcoming Meetings:

MillerCoors Brewery Tour – Checking into a behind the scenes tour; MillerCoors has seemed reluctant to allow this

Harley Museum – Rental:  $350.00 plus 20% tax/ tip for use of facility.  Also $12/person for museum entrance fee - the thought is that this is too expensive

Committee Reports

Promotions – Cheryl Moran

- Champion of Excellence Award.  Deadline is April 30, 2009

- The Chapter would like to develop a Local CHMM award that is given to an individual, with nominations to be reviewed by the past president, president and president elect.

- Reminder notice to all Chapter members, to find out about all the educational and promotional materials that are offered by AHMP.  Please check out their website at www.achmm.org

Education – Jeff Nettesheim

- HAZWOPPER – April 7^th, 2009 - Speakers needed (CHMM Points available for speakers)

- RCRA Training Seminar – May 14^th, 2009 – Tracy Pellicori is chairing

- 3-Day CHMM Review Course – Mid-July, to be held at S.C. Johnson in the Racine area. Sonji Millet to confirm location availability.

Nominations

        - CHMM Secretary and President Elect Elections for July 1, 2009 – June 30, 2010 Term.  The voting deadline is   3/16/09, and the FET Board will certify the vote in March 2009

Other Business

Discussed the local Chapter by-laws and their need to be reviewed and updated to match up with the name change of the ACHMM to AHMP.  Also, review the requirements to be a AHMP member to be in CHMM chapter.  This review will be done by Liz Schuller, Tom Maurer and Barbara Hurula.
