Executive Committee Meeting Minutes
Monday, October 8, 2007
RE: Leadership Conference Committee Meeting
Members Present:
Cheryl Moran, Patrick Rego, Jeff Nettesheim, Majo Thurman, Sonji Carter,
Michele Bogner, Julie Jansett, Dan Brady and Elizabeth Schuller.
5:00 pm - Meeting held at the Sprecher
Brewery, prior to the CHMM Chapter meeting.
- Sonji
passed on confirmation from Matt Redmann that the Leadership Conference
would be scheduled on April 23-26, 2008.
We are most thankful for the generous contribution by Harley
Davidson for sharing their meeting space for this event.
Committee Updates:
- Wednesday
Evening Mixer – Liz Schuller reported that Mo’s
Irish Pub, downtown location, is available at that time. Rental cost of space is $75.00, with an approximate
$1500 minimum for food and bar, plus a 20% gratuity charge. A deposit is required to book the room.
- Thursday
Evening Dinner – Tariq Akmut was not present at the meeting but
provided rental information for
the Milwaukee
Art Museum. The rental rate is $1000.00. Dinner can be provided in the Café Calatrava; tours of the museum and the opening of the Bris Soliel are included in
the rental.
- Tours
– Cheryl Moran discussed options for the Friday afternoon tours (1:00 - 4:30 pm) Such things as the
Domes, Miller Park, Behind the Scenes at the Harley Davidson Museum and
visiting places on Old World 3rd Street (Spice House, Usingers, etc.)
- Hotel
– Michele provided a list of options, but it looks like the downtown Hilton
Hotel will be the best option. Room
rates were quoted at $129.00 per night.
Efforts will be made to reserve the rooms. Please note: the Hilton does not have hotel provided transportation
for its guests.
- Gift
Bags/ Welcome Packets – Sonji Carter will have welcome packets
available for the guests. Info
about Milwaukee,
the schedule, plus goodies will be included in this care package.
- Name
Tags – Each person attending should have a name tag for use during at
each of the events planned.
- Corporate
Sponsorship – Harley Davidson will get the top bill, but we still need
to get at least one more donor.
Ideas were provided in the materials sent from last year’s event.
Committee members will continue to obtain information for each portion of the event. The Leadership Conference Committee will meet
next after the November 14th CHMM Meeting.
