Computer-Based Testing

Computer-Based Testing (CBT) for the CHMM Exam is here!

As some of you may be aware, the Institute of Hazardous Material Managers (IHMM) has now implemented Computer-Based Testing (CBT) for the CHMM exam. Exams will now be given during the last two weeks of odd numbered months. The next scheduled testing times are September 17-30, 2007, November 15-30, 2007, January 17-31, 2008, March 17-31, 2008, and May 17-31, 2008. You need to register with IHMM at www.IHMM.org at least 6 (six) weeks PRIOR to the exam date.

These tests will be held at one of the following locations in our area. If you are not sure how CBT works, the exam will be loaded onto a computer in a supervised area where you will be taking your test along with others taking other kinds of tests (e.g. ACT)

CHMP EXAM NEW THIS YEAR!

The institute is now offering the Certified Hazardous Material Practitioner (CHMP) Exam. If you do not have a degree, this may be the certification for you. This exam is less technical and focuses on math and science at the high school level. Starting in September, these exams will be offered the last two weeks of even number months at the same locations.

STUDY COURSES

The WI CHMM Chapter will still offer one 11-week and one 3-day CHMM exam study course. The 11-week class will be held from November 29, 2007 through March 6, 2008 in the greater Milwaukee area. Although the CHMP exam is less technical, the CHMM study course will also cover all of the material needed to pass both the CHMP exam and CHMM exam. You will need to register with the IHMM at least 6 weeks prior to the March CHMM exam. The 3-day course will be scheduled after the March Exam.
